The All-India Muslim League produced very little
literature on Muslim nationalism or the Pakistan demand and,
still less, on the nature of the future set-up in the new state.
The material published on this subject before the passage of the
Lahore/Pakistan Resolution was probably
more in volume than the one which came out after it. The present
work is a collection of thirteen articles, printed and widely
circulated in the form of pamphlets under the "Pakistan
Literature Series" during 1945-47. These articles bear unique
importance in many respects. They cover a wide range of subjects
which no other single contemporary work has done. Even after
independence, not much work was done on these subjects. Again
their importance lies in the fact that some of
these articles were written by eminent Muslim scholars and
published under the authority of the committee of writers of the
All-India Muslim League. These articles were originally
published by Shaikh Muhammad Ashraf, a publisherfrom Lahore, and
with his permission these have been published in a book form. An
introduction precedes the articles to enable the readers to
understand their contents.
